Relationships

Life is constantly changing. Just when we think we've got it all figured out, something goes awry. Figuring out next steps can be confusing and overwhelming. Changes in life circumstances can create a crisis of confidence in ourselves. If you are not sure "who you are" anymore, or who you want to be, or why life has become so confusing, let's sort it out together.
All life has stress; it's our reactions to it that matter. Anxiety can derail even the most organized person as rational worry gives way to unrelenting, unproductive tension. The answer might lie in better time management, or in confronting a dreaded decision, or in learning to let go of things you can't change, or in changing the way you think. Let's get a handle on it together.
Depression is the soul-crushing feeling that you are helpless against a life that is hopeless. It's not something you can shake off, and trying to "think on the sunny side" simply doesn't work. The first step to healing is to know that you are not alone. There are effective treatments for depression, including behavioral and cognitive therapy and, if warranted, medication. Don't suffer in silence.
"No man is an island..."
Our relationships define us, enrich us, and sometimes frustrate us. If you are having trouble with any of the relationships in your life, perhaps it's a good time to figure out how you can change your own actions and reactions to improve your connections with other people.
Psychotherapy deals with these and many other clinical issues, including panic disorder, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, school refusal, bipolar disorder, grief, schizophrenia, parenting issues, work-life balance, personal goals, and other challenges.
My practice does not include treatment for active addictions or alcoholism.
